The local Group of the Ramblers' Association offers a range of led walks on Sundays and weekdays. Sunday walks, with varying degrees of difficulty, cover about 10 miles over a full day, and a packed lunch is required. Mid-week walks are shorter, with monthly full day walks of 7-8 miles (packed lunch), monthly morning walks of about 6 miles (pub lunch), and Wednesday evening walks of 3-4 miles in summer. Occasional weekend walking breaks are also organised
For all walks, suitable clothing and footwear are required, and in the interest of safety dogs are not allowed. The walking areas covered are Cheshire, Shropshire, Peak District and North Wales, and members of the Group car share.
The Group has a Footpaths Section with regular path surveys and clearance activities, aiming to protect our Public Rights of Way network for walkers.
The Cestrian (Chester) Group is part of the Ramblers' Association, a Registered Charity, whose objectives are to encourage walking and the love of the countryside, and to protect Britain's unique footpath network.
